Becoming a Judge on the DC Superior Court and DC Court of Appeals (Co-sponsored with the Women’s Bar Association)

  • November 14, 2016
  • 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
  • King & Spalding LLP, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Suite 200 - Conference Room 10F, Washington, DC 20006

Every year, spots open up on the DC Superior Court and DC Court of Appeals for new judges. The DC Judicial Nomination Commission recommends applicants to the President of the United States. That could be you – but first, you have to apply! The bench is particularly interested in diversifying its membership, so female lawyers and lawyers of color are encouraged to apply. Join us for a panel featuring sitting judges and representatives from the JNC to hear about the process, learn tips, and answer your questions on how to become a judge.

There will be drinks and light appetizers provided, and a chance to mingle before and after with the judges and fellow attendees.

Presented by: Executive and Judicial Endorsements Committee
